Purchasing

The City of South Gate has a centralized purchasing system administered by the Purchasing division of the Finance Department. Centralized purchasing standardizes the bidding and evaluation procedures, achieves economy of scale benefits, provides consistency in dealing with suppliers and ensures an open, fair and competitive procurement process. Purchasing procedures are governed by the Municipal Code Chapter 1.24. For more information, contact the Purchasing Office at 323-563-5780.

Vendor Requirements

The City of South Gate defers to government contracts and businesses listed with the County of L.A. as first priority. If your business meets these criteria you are already considered for business with the City of South Gate. If your business is not on one of these lists and you would like to be considered for the City's bid list or to send a proposal for services, email your company's information to email me.

Sale of Obsolete Property

The City of South Gate consigns all of its obsolete equipment to U.S. Auctions, LLC. This is done as the need presents itself. Information as to when the South Gate items are to be listed for auction can be found at the U.S. Auctions website at www.usauctionsllc.com.
