Parks & Recreation Master Plan

Parks Master Plan to Begin
with Public Workshops and Surveys
The City of South Gate and the South Gate Parks & Recreation Commission will soon begin preparing a Parks Master Plan for the City. The process, which may take as much as a year to complete, includes a comprehensive evaluation of all of the City's existing park facilities and matches it to a needs assessment which uses community input and other tools to determine the community's recreation and park needs over the next twenty years.
Once completed, this document will assist the City Council and staff to prioritize park projects and improvements, seek grant funding for various projects and ensure that the communities needs are being met in the most efficient manner.
In order to ensure that every voice is heard, the Commission will be holding a number of public workshops as well as completing a community survey.Residents are asked to help by attending a workshop or taking the time to respond to a questionnaire or survey when asked.
