Facility Rental Rules and Regulations
PLEASE NOTE: FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THESE RULES MAY RESULT IN CHARGES THAT WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM THE REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT. SHOULD THE CHARGES EXCEED THE DEPOSIT AMOUNT, PERMITTEE WILL BE BILLED THE DEFFEENCE.
1. The PERMITEE MUST BE PRESENT during the entire reservation time & will be responsible for any and all damages.
2. The PERMITTEE shall accept full responsibility for any breakage or damage to properties building.
3. The PERMITTEE shall pay a refundable deposit, which you will receive by mail 4 - 6 weeks after your event IF you comply with the rules stated below.
4. In accordance with the South Gate Municipal Code, Section 7.49.040, LIQUOR, INCLUDING BEER AND WINE ARE FORBIDDEN IN ALL CITY OF SOUTH GATE FACILITIES. Violation may result in immediate eviction of the permittee and group and result in forfeiture of deposit fees. In addition, permittee may be cited and fined for alcohol violation.
5. The PERMITTEE MUST BE COMPLETELY OUT OF THE BUILDING BY THE TIME LISTED ON THE PERMIT. NO EXCEPTIONS! Failure to vacate at the permit ending time may result in Park Security or Police being summoned to close the building, partial or complete loss of the refundable deposit and/ additional charges may be applied.
6. CONFETTI IS NOT ALLOWED IN ANY PARK FACILITY.
7. If permission is granted to use a kitchen facility, PERMITTEE is responsible for using the equipment with care and to provide all labor and materials to clean the kitchen within the permit period. Failure to leave the kitchen clean will result in the billing the permittee to cover all cleaning expenses.
8. PERMITTEE must leave facility clean ALL DECORATIONS & DEBRIS MUST BE REMOVED. Tables and chairs are NOT TO BE PUT AWAY BY PERMITTEE.
9. All decorations must be fireproofed and are for table tops only. No decorations may be tacked, stapled or taped on walls or from ceiling. NO balloons are to be left floating on ceiling; a fee will be deducted from the damage deposit for removal of balloons.
10. NO DECORATIONS WITH OPEN FLAME OR BLAIZERS ARE ALLOWED. NO SMOKE OR SMOKE EFFECTS ARE ALLOWED.
11. No guests are allowed on stage -- exceptions apply ONLY to disk jockey or live band.
12. No additives or scraping of floors is allowed. Groups will be charged for sanding and refinishing floors or stripping and re-waxing floors.
13. ADVANCED PAYMENT for rental is a minimum of 50% of the facility rental, plus the refundable deposit. Payment for security officers AND event monitor, if required, is due upon the issuance of permit. BALANACE IS DUE AT LEAST 10 WORKING DAYS IN ADVANCE OF RESERVED DATE. IF THE BALANCE IS NOT PAID IN ADVANCE AS STATED, THE CITY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CANCEL RESERVATION.
14. Arrangements for set-ups or any changes to permit MUST BE MADE AT LEAST 10 WORKING DAYS IN ADVANCE.
15. ALL CANCELLATIONS MUST BE MADE A MINIMUM OF TEN (10) WORKING DAYS, in person, to receive a refund of any monies paid. THERE WILL BE A $10.00 PROCESSING FEE DEDUCTED FROM THE MONEY BEING REFUNDED.
16. The PERMITTEE SHALL NOT rearrange any part of the room set-up.
17. The PERMITTEE shall agree to submit a roster listing at least one adult (21 years of age or older) present for each fifteen minors (17 years of age or younger) in the group. If this is not possible the permittee MUST PAY ADDITIONAL SECURITY CHARGES for security personnel in advance of facility use. Permittee will be required to use security personnel based on currently accepted contractual hourly rates.
18. Permission for use is granted contingent upon all rules and regulations of the City of South Gate being observed.
19. Pre-approval from the Parks and Recreation Commission and Parks Director, is required for the following: youth dances, soliciting (ticket sales, etc.), selling or advertising merchandise.
20. If the permittee is using a disk jockey or live band, the volume must be kept to a minimum.
21. The following information is required if a caterer is employed: Caterer's name, address, and city or county health permit number.
22. The future permits may be revoked for FAILURE TO OBSERVE the regulations, improper conduct, or when cancellation is necessary for other reasons.
23. All vehicles entering park grounds, other than the designated parking lots, MUST have an entry permit issued at the Parks Administration Office.
24. The PERMITTEE agrees to make reasonable accommodations, when necessary to all attending this rental function, according to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.
25. The City of South Gate reserves the right to all concession proceeds.
26. CITY USE OF FACILITIES HAS PRIORITY OVER ALL OTHER RESERVATIONS. APPROVAL OF THIS PERMIT IS SUBJECT TO CANCELLATION IF THE CITY NEEDS THE USE OF THE FACILITY.
