Impounded Cars

Reasons for impounding cars range from involvement in criminal activity, expired registration, outstanding parking tickets or warrants, to unlicensed drivers. In all cases, the following is required for release:
- A vehicle will only be released to the registered owner who must be accompanied by a licensed driver, if not licensed to drive himself/herself. Photo ID is required.
- A valid California Driver's license.
- Proof of payment of all outstanding registration and citation fees.
- Cash, check or money order for the impound fee ($108 for standard/$356 for DUI). The towing company will charge its own additional towing and storage fees.
- Authorization by the investigating officer, if the vehicle was impounded for involvement in a crime.
When all of these criteria are met, you will be given a map to the appropriate towing facility.

Become a member of the South Gate Sports Center today and enjoy all the fun activities that this facility offers. For a small fee you can purchase a yearly pass which includes access to the racquetball courts, gym, game room, weight room and the swim stadium! Stanford Avenue Park is located between Iowa and Illinois Avenues, next to Stanford Avenue Elementary School. Jumpers are not permitted at the park.

Street sweeping hours are posted on City streets and are enforced by parking enforcement officers. You will receive a citation if your vehicle is parked during street sweeping hours. Streets sweeping services are not provided on all City recognized holidays; however, street sweeping restrictions still apply.
Swim Stadium

The Swim Stadium hours change by season. In order to swim at the deep end of the pool, swimmers must pass a "swimmer safety test." Minors are not allowed to take care of under-age children. Bags, which can be hung on the pool deck, are provided for your clothes.
Teen Town

Teen Town is for 6 - 8th grade students who live or attend school in South Gate. Activities (under adult supervision) include a live DJ, dancing, game room, raffle prizes, and $2.00 polaroid pictures. Teen Town is held every 3rd Friday of the month at the South Gate Sports Center.
