Traffic and Parking Enforcement

Traffic enforcement is an important function of the South Gate Police Department. Concerns grow daily about traffic congestion and violations. Traffic laws were and are designed for the safe and orderly movement of vehicles, without it chaos would be certain. An aggressive Traffic Team enforces all violations related to traffic. Traffic stops not only deter violators but often result in the apprehension of other criminal types. The South Gate Police Department Traffic Bureau includes four (4)motorcycle officers, two (2) dedicated traffic cars, four full time parking enforcement officers and five (5) part time parking enforcement officers.
