Annual South Gate Children Christmas Lane Parade

The 2008 Children's Christmas Lane Parade will be held on Sunday, December 14, beginning at 1:00 P.M. The parade will begin at California Ave. and will proceed east on Tweedy Blvd., ending at South Gate Park.
Once again, the Parade will be televised on Christmas day at 9:00 a.m. on Channel 13.
Founded in 1945 to celebrate the homecoming of American soldiers from World War II, the South Gate Children's Christmas Lane Parade has become one of Southern California's oldest holiday traditions. Today, among other entries, this popular community parade features City Officials, Miss South Gate and her Court and 2008 Azalea Queen. Horses, clowns, marching bands, antique cars, floats, performing groups, sports, entertainment personalities and of course Santa Claus, are all part of this annual event.
South Gate will celebrate its 63rd Children's Lane Parade this year with another memorable day of holiday fun for young and old. The South Gate Chamber of Commerce and City of South Gate, invites you to become a part of this unique tradition by sponsoring the 2008 South Gate Children's Christmas Lane Parade.
